ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM PRIESTESS BURNOUT?
For a long time now I have been suffering from priestess burnout. This means that I’ve become allergic to anything priestess related. At first I thought it was just me being put off by all the form fetish I’m seeing on social media, where anyone can wear a robe or hold a wand and call themselves a priestess.
But after an excruciating deep dive into these sensations, I discovered it ran way deeper.
There is currently an epidemic of practitioners who are using the tools, the clothes, the rituals of thousands of years ago to escape, whilst not being grounded in reality. For the most part, when we are engaging in this kind of priestess behavior, we are stuck in past lifetimes that we desperately want to relive. Lifetimes where perhaps we had some success as spiritual leaders, where we had the love of a ride or die community or were tortured and burnt. These unprocessed memories keep us disassociated and stuck.
But the real damage is this: in rehashing the past and being unable instead to be here, we are not honoring what our soul came to be in this lifetime. The evolution that is possible is so much greater than what we could obtain by just looking at one role we played two thousand years ago.
As someone who has gone very deeply into the priestess archetype myself, this pivot has been a long time coming. I am officially hanging up my Priestess cloak. From now on, don’t give me clans, groups, cults, or one-stop-lifelong teachers. Let me run, with arms wide open, towards the 2.0 version of myself, in step with the times and the magnificent ability to connect to Source directly. No titles or paraphernalia required. Because when you drop the form fetish, what’s left is your unadulterated unified connection to Source and then real change is set in motion.
